Project Overview

Scheduled to be completed in time for the fall semester of 2019. Project will include research & teaching laboratories, classrooms, and specialized animal processing spaces. This will be the world’s only USDA certified meat processing facility and Biosafety Level II Laboratory housed under one roof. The UW Madison retail meat store will also be housed in the new facility.

PROJECT STATISTICS

Size of Project:

68,000 sq. ft new meat science laboratory & classroom space.

Structural Steel Used:

Over 300 tons of structural steel. All misc steel items including steel stairs & railings, cable railings, animal processing railings, blackened steel, meat rail hangers and trolley rails, cooler platforms, walk-able ceiling grid railing, and perforated ceiling panels. All items modeled and shared for full BIM coordination with concrete and all other trades. All connection & misc. steel stamped calculations.
